Platforms
Nonprofit websites tend to bury the story under logistics. The Roslindale Food Collective site was structured the other way around: the work the organization does comes first, and the practical details — how to participate, how to give, where to go — stay one clear step away at every scroll position.
The build prioritized speed and legibility over decoration. Community sites are read on old phones, on weak connections, by people who are not browsing for pleasure. That constraint shaped the image strategy, the type scale and how much motion the page carries.
Animation is used only where it helps content arrive in a readable order.
What I did
- Frontend development of the full responsive site.
- Content hierarchy and information architecture focused on mission-first storytelling.
- Motion design used to sequence content, not to decorate it.
- Performance work targeting low-end devices and constrained connections.
- Accessible, semantic markup throughout.
